Welcome.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #27168) in San Francisco, California, in private practice at the San Francisco DBT Center.  I see adolescents, adults, and families for therapy using a Dialectical Behavior Therapy approach.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a great type of treatment for those who have found their emotional experiences to be very large, very shut down, or cause trouble in their lives.  DBT is a type of CBT that balances acceptance and change, and helps us understand and make changes in behaviors that we sometimes continue, even though we may already know they don't work for us in the long run.  In DBT-informed work, we take a look at how we interact with the people in our lives, as well as our environment, and we use a biosocial lens to examine how and why we may experience very intense emotional responses, and manage our behaviors and emotions in a more effective way.

My background as a therapist started in community mental health, and has focused on working with adolescents, young adults, and families. In addition to my primary work as a therapist, I've also enjoyed opportunities as a parent coach, a lecturer for intern training programs, and as a consultant on adolescent behavior for NBC and ABC. Specifically, my clinical experiences include Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Phoenix House, Kaiser Hospital San Francisco, and non-profit agencies in Contra Costa and Los Angeles counties. Currently, I see a diverse range of clients in private practice at the San Francisco DBT Center.
